I have been working in human services and mental and behavioral health since 2010 in a wide variety of treatment settings and I have worked with all age groups, from birth-3 to end of life, and everything in between. I graduated from Plymouth State University with a Bachelors in Childhood Studies and a minor in Social Work, as well as a Masters in Special Education. I later went on to earn another Masters degree in Social Work from Simmons College in Boston in order to achieve my dream of providing individual and family therapy in a private practice setting.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker I draw from a wide range of treatment modalities and theoretical perspectives in order to provide personalized and client centered treatment. Among the frameworks that I draw from are Existential Philosophy, Social Learning Theory, Psychodynamic Theory and Object Relations Theory. I also utilize modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
I believe that in order to truly overcome our struggles, we must first understand the root of them, and feel that above all else the therapeutic rapport and trust between client and provider is the best predictor of long term success and recovery. With the help of the right clinician and by looking back on our past we can then understand our present and create a healthier and happier future. I also believe that anyone, at any age, can benefit from therapy. I take a person centered approach and individualize my treatment methods and modalities to your specific needs, goals, concerns and hopes for the future. I truly look forward to working with anyone who is hoping to better themselves and their lives.
